Blaudzun

Blaudzun is a Dutch singer and songwriter. I stumbled upon  Blaudzun's Seadrift Soundmachine about a year ago. One evening I had itunes on shuffle and "Midnight Room" started playing. Instantly I fell in love with Blaudzun's vivid voice and the acoustic melody. I'm a big sucker for anything acoustic.

Blaudzun fits nicely into the indie, folk music categories. His music is similar to that of Arcade Fire, Temper trap,  Swell Season.  His lyrics are full of imagery, love, lust and beauty.  If you are looking for anything easy listening and soothing Blaudzun is definitely worth checking out.

One thing I will say is this is definitely an album that needs to be listened to more then once.  Some of the songs seem similar lyrically and melodically but after closer listening one will figure out this isn't the case.

I have a few songs below from YouTube for previewing purposes as well as Blaudzun's website, twitter, and myspace. So enjoy and I would appreciate comments and feedback!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Even though I am not the biggest rap music enthusiast I took the time to listen to Kanye West's new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.  I've known about the album release for some time and even had the chance to listen to most of the tracks a few months ago. However when finished albums are actually released the finished project is always a little different then the mix tapes.

Overall I was impressed with Kanye yet again, I'm curious to see what you guys are feeling?  Try listening to a little Kid Cudi and then listen to Kanye. I think you will find some similarities, but in the end will find that Kanye's album seems a little more "simple" then Cudi's.  When I say simple I'm mainly referring to the lyrics.  I will say the one thing Kanye has going for him are artist collaborations.

Really though I would like opinions from other people... findmusicaladventures@gmail.com or tweet @

You can listen to a few of the songs here before you decide to purchase.

Welcome to my musical adventure.

The purpose of this blog is to expose people to different types of music. Each week I will post my current music findings.

I don't "review" music, I feel that all judging and critiquing is solely up to the listener. My hopes are that you (the reader) take these music ideas...taste/listen to them... love/hate them... recommend them to your friends.

And of course I hope you will  recommend my blog and keep checking it out regularly

Here is the kicker of it all: I LOVE MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS!  So, please email me (findmusicaladventures@gmail.com) any music you love and can't get out of your head. I will then in turn post your findings in my blog and of course give you the credit!
